Where is My Data From Rich?

Important

All symlinks (symbolic links or short-cuts) will be broken during the migration of data since the underlying lay-out of data on the Phoenix is different from the Rich Datacenter based systems. The links will have to be fixed manually by you. Please see How to Create Symlinks for assistance.

Overview

  • Rest assured that your data from your home, data, and shared directories in Rich have been migrated to the Coda cluster
  • The guide will explain where you can find your data on the Phoenix Cluster
  • Once you locate your old data that has been migrated, you can use the mv command to move the files around on on your Phoenix cluster account

Home Directory

  • Logon to the Coda cluster and navigate to your CODA home directory.
  • Within this directory, look for a folder whose name starts with rich_home, followed by your former home fileset. This folder contains your home directory data from rich.
  • If you had multiple home directories from former access to PACE, they will all have been placed in your new home directory.

Data Directory

  • Logon to the Coda cluster and navigate to your CODA home directory.
  • Your old data will be in your new project storage, in a directory named after your former data fileset; if you had multiple data directories, you will find a directory for each one

Scratch Directory

  • As announced in advance, scratch data from Rich is not migrated and is no longer accessible

Shared Directories

  • If your research group has a shared directory, it has been placed in your group's new project directory under a "shared" directory (one level up from your personal project storage, e.g. /storage/coda1/p-jdoe4/0/shared)
  • If you would like to have a symbolic link to this shared directory in your home directory, visit our symlink guide for instructions.
  • Contact PACE at pace-support@oit.gatech.edu for assistance if you cannot locate your shared directory in its new location
